Former California governor and reborn action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger has a memoir out this week, and it’s already proving to be great fodder for tabloids.

In interviews for his new book, Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, Ah-nold says that he “became an expert in living in denial” over the years. He claims an emotional “deep freeze” led to the affair with his housekeeper. (The affair produced a son and eventually caused the end of his marriage to Maria Shriver.) The book confirms that Schwarzenegger had a “hot affair” with actress Brigitte Nielsen and even claims he helped the GOP decide to invade Iraq during the Gulf War.

Early reviews haven’t been pretty. The New York Times called Schwarzenegger a “braggart” and his book “boorish” and “big on denial.” Regardless, as Arnold likes to say, he’ll be back: He already has a half-dozen movies in the pipeline for the next couple of years.
