You couldn’t write a better elevator pitch: “Bill O’Reilly. Jon Stewart. Two podiums. One air-conditioned auditorium.” And that’s exactly how a showdown between The Daily Show anchor and the Fox News host is being promoted.
Stewart and O’Reilly will square off for 90 minutes at George Washington University on October 6. The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium will be live streamed for $4.95, with half of the proceeds going to charity. CNN anchor E.D. Hill will moderate the mock debate. And the topics? Does it really matter?
For those beleaguered or bored by the 2012 presidential campaign, this will almost certainly beat the three Obama-Romney debates, at least in terms of living up to the hype.
