Olympic star Hope Solo wasn’t just Dancing With the Stars, she saw some, too—according to her claims that her partner slapped and hit her during production of the show.
In her new book, Solo: A Memoir of Hope, Solo claims that during last season’s show her partner, pro dancer Maks Chmerkovskiy, “manhandled me in rehearsals from the start, pushing me, whacking my stomach, bending my arms roughly.” She also said he slapped her hard across the face once to put her head in the right position. Solo assumed that’s how professional dancers behaved and thought that as an athlete she could “tough it out.”
Apparently apologetic behind the scenes, Maks took to Twitter and, while not naming Solo directly, said, “Always hated hypocrites and liars … but when someone is both AND an opportunist, I just feel bad for them.” Sounds like these two won’t be doing the tango again anytime soon.
