In the iPhone 5 leak hall of mirrors, it’s hard to tell what’s real and what is a mirage—but the latest video rumored to show the next level gadget’s design is convincing.
Japanese blog Macotakara posted a video this week showing what could be the housing of Apple’s new phone, featuring a side-encompassing back plate, that smaller charging dock we’ve been hearing about, and a headphone jack at the bottom. Also in the video: black and white “home” buttons, the glass front panel, and what appears to be a larger 4-inch display over all—yet another one of the common rumors heard in recent months.
One of the internal parts shown in the video may be part of the device’s power cable, and could be related to a near-field communications chip, which would work with iOS 6’s e-wallet functionality and Passbook. Will we get any final answers before October’s supposed release? Hard to know—but we’re starting to get a clearer picture.
