Idaho Billboard Compares President Obama to Aurora Shooting Suspect James Holmes

Likening him to Hitler may be out of style—a new billboard in Caldwell, Idaho tries to be timely by comparing President Obama to Aurora shooting suspect James Egan Holmes.

The sign features the president’s face next to that of Holmes, suspected of killing 12 people and wounding scores in a Colorado movie theater earlier this month. In front of Holmes it says, “Kills 12 in a Movie Theater with assault rifle, everyone freaks out.” In front of the president’s photo, the billboard says, “Kills thousands with foreign policy, wins Nobel Peace Prize.”

The message comes courtesy of supporters for the late Ralph Smeed, a controversial libertarian activist in the state. A member of the group said “we’re not saying Obama is a lunatic.” Instead he said, the group wanted to draw attention to the president's failures in bringing home American troops from overseas.
