Shocker: We Are All Stalking Our Exes on Facebook Like Creeps

More proof that technology is a great enabler of our base human instincts.

A researcher at Western University has found that nearly nine out of 10 people use Facebook to stalk and otherwise keep close tabs on their exes. The study’s author surveyed and interviewed twenty- and thirtysomethings who had gone through a breakup in the last 12 months. Seventy percent admitted to using a mutual friend’s profile to monitor posts from their ex-partners.

A new study suggests a whopping 89 percent of us are using Facebook to monitor our ex boyfriends and girlfriends.

And an even higher number copped to lurking in order to gain intel on their exes’ new romantic interest, while three in 10 said they posted photos to try to make their ex-lovers jealous.  All of which seems to merely confirm what we knew in our guts:  When it comes to lost love, most of us can’t just “get over it.”
