D'Angelo returned to the stage last night—just in time to eclipse talk about Kim Kardashian attending the BET Awards in Los Angeles.
The reclusive R&B singer who attained fame for his erotic 2000 hit “Untitled (How Does it Feel)” performed at the awards show along with Nicki Minaj, Rick Ross, and Chris Brown. Struggles with his label and addiction have sidelined the critically acclaimed performer in recent years, but fellow musicians like Questlove have been trying to get him back on stage.
The big winners of the awards night included the Jay Z and Kanye West super-group the Throne, which took home video of the year, and Beyonce, for best female R&B artist.
But perhaps the biggest performances came from D’Angelo and Cissy Houston, who sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water” in tribute to her late daughter Whitney Houston.
