Paypal Redesign: Will Site Makeover Make E-Payments Even Easier?

Japan’s Internet giant Softbank president Masayoshi Son (C) and US online transaction giant eBay CEO John Donahoe (L) with eBay’s subsidiary PayPal president David Marcus show their smartphones with triangle shaped dongles of credit card reader as they announce to form a joint venture to start online transaction service through the mobile Internet ‘PayPal Here’ in Tokyo on May 9, 2012.

PayPal is getting a slick makeover.

The eBay-owned electronic payments service rolled out a redesign to a few users, and Tech Crunch has some preview screenshots.

They note that the home page is significantly less busy and “also happens to look a lot more touch-friendly,” no doubt making it more accessible to the onslaught of tablets, smartphones, and other next-gen devices.

The navigation bars have also been simplified—replaced with three tabs: buy, sell, and transfer.

For many of Paypal’s 100-million users, this redesign is, like a lot of e-payments out there, long overdue.
