Mike Tyson Heads Hopes To Knock ‘Em Out on … Broadway?

Move over Tracy Jordan, there’s a new contender looking to shore up his EGOT. Former world champion boxer Mike Tyson is opening a one-man Broadway show called Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.

Inspired by Chazz Palminteri’s semi-autobiographical one-man show A Bronx Tale, Tyson originally performed his show at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. A friend of Spike Lee’s urged the filmmaker to see the show—And Lee then arranged his transition to the Great White Way, where he will make his own Broadway debut as Undisputed Truth’s director.

Tyson told the New York Times, “I’m just naked … very vulnerable.” But he hopes the show also offers up some laughs, saying, “I’m not up here doing sob stories—‘Oh, woe is me.’ ”

Here’s hoping Iron Mike transitions to knocking ‘em out metaphorically instead of literally.
