The next step in technology’s march toward ultimate navel-gazing admittedly looks pretty awesome.

A new first-person video released by Google shows a video recording by their potentially game-changing Google Glasses and features impressive footage of—what else?—the view from the wearer doing back flips on a trampoline.

It’s not the most high-definition video imaginable, but the short clip shot in 720p is still pretty cool. There are photos as well—of a person following a man on a trail run and a person catching a football. And unlike the much-lampooned promotional video for the tech glasses, the footage isn’t clogged up with ads or other information.

Google glasses may still be a long way off, but we can guess at the potential for the real-life version of Being John Malkovich. Instead of your future friends asking you to read their blog, maybe they’ll ask you to watch their live first-person video blog. Please nobody give a pair of these things to Paris Hilton.
