Is Colin Powell getting closer and closer to being classified as a RINO?

The former secretary of state endorsed gay marriage this week on The Situation Room with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

Voicing support for President Obama’s recent decision to come out in favor of same-sex unions, Powell said of gay couples, “Allowing them to live together with the protection of law, it seems to me is the way we should be moving in this country.”

Powell defended the recently repealed military policy called Don’t Ask Don’t Tell however, which Congress passed in 1993—while the four-star general was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Does an endorsement of gay marriage also equal an endorsement of Obama? Powell supported then-Senator Obama in 2008, but has so far stopped short of doing so in interviews, saying choosing Romney or Obama may be a matter of “who they have coming in with them.” Powell knows a little something about that.
