Iran is ready to go nuclear on Google over a Maps omission ... in court at least.
In an attempt to keep the peace that drew an ironic result, the tech giant left blank the body of water alternately known as the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Gulf, or the Islamic Gulf, saying "the change was an effort to be neutral in the naming dispute." Now Iran, formerly Persia, is threatening a lawsuit unless Google amends its maps to officially mark the body of water as the Persian Gulf.
An Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman told the Associated Press, "Google had better fix things or the company will be hit with 'serious damages.’"
Tread lightly, Iran. Remember, Google can erase you from the map, literally.
