Mary Kennedy, Estranged Wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr, Found Dead

Multiple reports say Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s estranged wife Mary Kennedy hanged herself. The body of the 52-year-old architect and environmental advocate who had four children with Robert was found dead at her home in Mount Kisco, N.Y. this week. She reportedly struggled with drug and alcohol addiction after he filed for divorce from her in 2010, and was arrested twice for driving under the influence. Mary Richardson wed RFK Jr. in 1994, and was inducted into perhaps the country’s most famous political family. Her passing marks another in a long string of tragic deaths for the Kennedy clan, spanning from the assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy to the death of John F. Kennedy Jr.’s family in a plane crash in 1999 to the skiing accident that claimed Michael Kennedy in 1997.
