Steve Francis Releases “Finer Things,” Rap Career Likely To Be Extremely Brief

For some, it’s easy to follow in Shaquille O’Neal’s footsteps, even when it’s not advisable.

Case in point: the new rap career of former NBA All-Star Steve Francis. The former player for the Rockets, Magic, and New York Nicks has released a rap song under the label “Mazerati Music” called “Finer Things.” With a low baritone delivery not unlike Ja Rule, Francis talks about—what else—champagne, fancy watches, and trips “overseas” in a private jet.

The video has already received plenty of ridicule on Twitter, and with a general style that, as Yahoo notes, is about as dated as Francis’ long-gone career on the court, reviews aren’t likely to get much better. Then again, if you don’t shoot, you can’t score.
