Jennifer Hudson Testifies, Breaks Down During Murder Trial

Jennifer Hudson broke down on the stand this week while testifying in the murder trial of her mother, brother, and 7-year-old nephew in Chicago.

The American Idol finalist and famous singer got emotional when the prosecutor asked Hudson about the last time she saw her mother, and then again when shown a photo of her mom. She had seen her mother, Darnell Donnerson, just days before the murders.

Hudson said of William Balfour, her former brother-in-law and the man accused in the triple homicide, that she and other family members never wanted her sister to marry him, and that she always kept her distance.
