Paula Abdul's out, Britney Spears is in.

After cleaning house earlier this year, The X Factor is working out the fine points of a contract with Britney Spears that would have the 30-year-old pop star fill one of the vacant judge's seats next season, joining L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell, worth an estimated $15 million.

That's 10 times as much as Nicole Scherzinger was reportedly making and far more expensive than Paula Abdul's $2.5 million price tag.

While there hasn't been a formal announcement yet, Simon Cowell had this to say on TMZ Live:

"I would love to have her on the show. I think it would be a coup. I think she would be a fascinating person to sit next to."

Of course, if the Femme Fatale doesn't help the show top American Idol's ratings, she may not be sitting there for long.
