Hillary Clinton’s had a near-perfect attendance record to the Democratic National Convention for decades, but this year she won’t make it.
The Secretary of State for President Barack Obama—and his former challenger—will miss the event in Charlotte, N.C., though Bill Clinton will be in attendance. In 2008, Hillary Clinton helped rally liberals around Candidate Obama after losing their intense battle for the nomination.
Hillary’s reason? Spokesman Philippe Reines told the Charlotte Observer that she was following the guidelines for her cabinet position, that sate she should not engage in political activity. He also said Mrs. Clinton hadn’t missed a convention in decades, perhaps since 1968 in Chicago.
With supporters like Minority House Leader Nancy Pelosi voicing hopes that Clinton would consider running for president in 2016, maybe she’s playing it safe. We’re waiting for the “Texts From Hillary” explanation.
