Arkansas Razorbacks football coach Bobby Petrino has joined the ranks of college coaches engaging in inappropriate relationships.
When Petrino was in a recent motorcycle accident, he told reporters that he was alone—but he was actually riding with Jessica Dorrell, a former Arkansas volleyball player Petrino had hired as the student-athlete development coordinator.
In a statement this week, the coach admitted a relationship with Dorrell. “My concern was to protect my family and a previous inappropriate relationship from becoming public,” he said. “In hindsight, I showed a serious mistake in judgment when I chose not to be more specific about those details.”
Petrino is on administrative leave while the University of Arkensas Athletic director Jeff Long reviews his case. Hopefully he’s saved some of his $3.5 million annual salary—he might need it for legal fees.
