Could pastor Dennis Terry be Rick Santorum’s Jeremiah Wright?
Video has gone viral of the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church pastor introducing currently flagging GOP candidate Rick Santorum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, thanks to comments viewed by some as extreme.
In the video, Terry gives a revival-style speech, railing against abortion, gay marriage, and other forms of “sexual perversion.” He also suggests those who didn’t love America should get out, saying, “We don’t worship Buddha, we don’t worship Mohammad, we don’t worship Allah, we worship God, we worship God’s son Jesus Christ.”
Granted, ahead of this week’s key Illinois primary, Santorum can use all the help he can get from conservative Christians—most analysts are picking Romney as the winner unless Santorum can draw big numbers outside of Chicago. Do introductions from pastors preaching fire and brimstone equal votes? Lord only knows.
