Mitt Romney might have received a trump card this afternoon—an endorsement the Donald considers legendary in his own mind.

The brash talking billionaire and briefly serious Presidential candidate is endorsing Mitt Romney, after conflicting reports suggested he might endorse fellow conservative Newt Gingrich. Donald has been mulling a 3rd party bid for sometime, and has met with several of the current and former candidates in New York.

Mitt Romney now holds a 20-point lead in Nevada over Gingrich according to latest polls, and it is unclear whether an endorsement from the polarizing and casino-owning Trump will hurt him or help him further in the state. As Talking Points Memo notes, many see a Trump endorsement as a bad thing, and Democrats are sure to use it against Romney. What it does do, though, is make an independant run by the Apprentice host unlikely, which could be good news for the Republican frontrunner.

Maybe there was just some confusion, and the Donald and his hairdo are endorsing different GOP candidates.
