Ron Paul may not be favored to win the nomination, but he’s not going anywhere—except the next states in the GOP contest. The Texas congressman left Florida before the state’s primary, which polls suggest will hand Mitt Romney a win over closest challenger Newt Gingrich.
Paul is now focusing instead on caucus contests of Maine and Nevada, the former of which he thinks he can win. He says he’s playing for delegates—instead of trying to fight the big money of his GOP rivals.
“We can’t compete with tens of millions of dollars for each individual state,” Rep. Paul said on CNN. He went on to say that with a volatile Republican contest for the nomination, he still might have a chance at winning enough delegates to “pick up the pieces” should a major development occur.
Time to start putting Ron Paul in a Rudy Ruettiger jersey. The guy just won’t quit.
