Bruce Springsteen Announces New Album, 2012 World Tour Plans

The Boss is hitting the road again. On his website, Bruce Springsteen says, “Well, things are starting to heat up on E Street,” and then reveals that he and the band will be heading out on a world tour in 2012.

The tour, Springsteen’s first in three years, will kick off in Europe in May and run through July, with U.S. dates yet to be announced. To sweeten the pot, Springsteen has also announced a new album is in the works for release next year.

For longtime fans, about the only unfortunate aspect of the upcoming tour and album is that they will miss the considerable presence of the Big Man, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who died in June after suffering a stroke.
