Apple Admits iPhone 4S Battery Problem

Apple has confirmed an iOS5 bug is causing short battery life for a number of iPhone 4S users.

In a statement to AllThingsD, Apple said, “We will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.”

The 4S user community has been growing since the phone’s October launch and has been trying to find ways to prolong the battery life, including dimming the screen and reinstalling all contacts.

The bug hasn’t stalled iPhone 4S sales, which have surpassed 4 million in less than a month on the market.
