Lytro is trending after the camera maker began accepting preorders for its new, much-hyped light-field cameras.
The new device captures 11 million light rays, and, unlike a traditional camera, gathers information on light color, intensity, and even direction, allowing the user to go back and manipulate the focus and perspective of photos after the fact. You can even view photos as a 3-D image on 3-D HDTVs.
Pricing starts at $400 but people hoping to get a camera in time for the holidays will be disappointed—they won't ship until early 2012.
