Zachary Quinto Comes Out; Star Trek Actor Cites Recent Bullying and Death of Gay Teen

Actor Zachary Quinto has come out as a gay man.

The 34-year-old Quinto, known for his role on NBC’s Heroes and as Dr. Spock in JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot, talks about his sexuality in an interview with New York magazine.

Quinto has played gay roles on Tori Spelling’s So NoTORIous and FX’s American Horror Story and has long been an advocate for gay rights.

Quinto says his decision to come out was brought on by the recent death of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, who committed suicide after being bullied for being gay.
