Zuccotti Park Cleanup Postponed; Occupy Wall Street Protestors Rejoice

Zuccotti Park is trending as cleanup of the Occupy Wall Street epicenter was delayed.

Mayor Bloomberg’s administration announced that Brookfield Properties, the owners of Zuccotti Park, called off the cleanup just before workers were scheduled to start. Occupy Wall Street has been a largely peaceful protest, but the move likely averted a showdown between passionate protesters and the police force tasked with removing them from the Lower Manhattan park.

The demonstrators had spent the previous day and night cleaning up the space themselves, and news of the official postponement resulted in cheers from roughly 99 percent of the group.
