Herman Cain is taking aim at fellow Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry over a hunting camp his family used that was once called Niggerhead. At the west Texas property leased by the Perry family, the offensive racial appellation was found painted on a rock at the entrance.
The Texas governor claims his father painted over the word soon after discovering it in the early 1980s. But a number of witnesses tell the Washington Post that the sign was left in place much later than that.
Cain says the N-word is so vile that leaving that sign up for any length of time is “just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country”.
