The man who played Officer Hightower in the Police Academy movies has passed away.
Football star turned actor Bubba Smith died this week at the age of 66.
The 6-foot-7 Smith was a pro bowl defender and Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Colts in 1971. After his retirement he took up acting, most famously playing the role of florist turned cop Moses Hightower:
Smith also appeared on Good Times, Charlie’s Angels, Family Matters, and Married With Children.
The cause of Smith’s death is not yet known, but a coroner’s statement says it appears to be natural.
