Originally created by Sega to compete with Nintendo’s Mario, Sonic’s 65 videotitles have sold more than 80 million copies worldwide. Since 2001, however,Sonic has joined forces with Mario in titles like Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The character’s legacy also includes a 1990s cartoon TV show and, alongsideMario and Link, one of the first inductees in to the Walk of Game, which honorsthe pioneers and legends of the video game industry.
