Roger Ebert is engaged in a war of tweets with Jackass star Bam Margera. After Margera’s co-star Ryan Dunn was killed in a car accident Monday night, Ebert tweeted, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.”
Police have not confirmed whether alcohol was involved in the accident. Bam tweeted back to Ebert, “I just lost my best friend, I have been crying hysterical for a full day and piece of [ expletive ] roger ebert has the gall to put in his 2 cents.”
Then, today, Ebert’s Facebook page was shut down, after the site received anonymous complaints. Facebook called it a mistake, and put the page back up. Now the Web is ablaze with debate over whether Ebert’s comments were insensitive.
