Jill Abramson is replacing BillKeller as executive editor of the NewYork Times

Keller, who stepped down in order to return to writing full time, worked withAbramson as managing editor to “restore confidence” in the paperfollowing the infamous Jayson Blair fabrication scandal.
The 57-year-old Abramson becomes the first female executive editor in the GrayLady’s 160-year history and takes over as the Times
is finding new ways to monetize its journalism on the Web andbeyond.
