Belgian Malinois is trending on reports that this may have been the breed of dog that accompanied the team of U.S. Navy SEALs on the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.
Although the identities of the Special Operations forces have not yet been revealed, the government has acknowledged that there was a dog on the team. The American Kennel Club describes the
as “one of four types of Belgian sheep herding dogs … sometimes mistaken for the German Shepherd.”
These dogs are
ideal for military and police work
because of their loyalty, intelligence, superior sense of smell, and strong desire to work.
