opted for unemotional, descriptive headlines, the
Philadelphia Daily News
wins the John Wayne award for its headline, “We Got the Bastard!”
In an uncharacteristically restrained cover, the
New York Post
simply declared, “Got Him!” Bin Laden was finally tracked down and killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan nearly 10 years after masterminding the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
President Obama is getting high marks for the operation, though Rush Limbaugh, not surprisingly, refuses to go along. He began his radio show with praise for the president that was dripping in sarcasm.
