Twitter is buzzing with the news that AT&T is buyingT-Mobile … for $39 billion. The acquisition will make AT&T the largestnetwork in the country and would also give AT&T access to T-Mobile’s cellsites, adding what would have taken five years of construction without thetransaction.
Existing customers won’t notice any immediate changes, asit’s expected to take about a year to finalize the deal-pending FCC and FTCapproval-though there are fears that fewer carrier options will mean therewon’t be as many places for disgruntled customers to flee to when their iPhoneskeep dropping calls.
