Mel Gibson Booked for Battery; Charges Stem From Allegedly Striking Oksana Grigorieva (VIDEO)


Mel Gibson is trending on a double dose of news. He turnedhimself in for booking and fingerprinting after pleading no contest tomisdemeanor battery charges. Gibson will be on probation for three years andwas ordered to perform community service for striking his ex, Oksana Grigorieva,last year while she was holding their baby daughter. Gibson and Grigorieva'sdomestic troubles became highly public after she released a recording of one oftheir not-so-little spats.

The Braveheart star'slatest brush with the law comes as his new movie- The Beaver, directed by Jody Foster-has its world premiere at SouthBy Southwest in Austin, Texas.

And, as if that isn't enough Gibson news: He also welcomedhis third grandchild into the world this week.
