The Twitterverse is chirping on news that Angry Birds is coming to Facebook. Created in 2009 as an iPhone app by Finland-based Rovio Mobile, Angry Birds has surpassed the 12 million download mark in the iTunes store.
The game involves slinging round, wingless birds at various structures with the intent of wiping out the evil, green pigs hidden underneath. Angry Birds has been adapted for other touch-screen smartphones, including the Android. Now the game-maker’s CEO, Mikael Hed, is curious to see how the Facebook community will respond. Angry Birds joins a plethora of games adapted for Facebook, including recent additions like Carmen Sandiego and Oregon Trail.
