certified Sanborn as the oldest person in the world after Eugenie Blanchard died in November, 2010. Sanborn credited her long life to “minding her own business and not eating junk food” and to her Christian faith. The title of the world’s oldest person now goes to Besse Berry Cooper of Georgia, who has four children, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Cooper is 114 years, 159 days old, and counting.
