Today,Jan. 31, 2011, is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day.
Bubblewrap was invented in 1957 and originally marketed as wallpaper before findingits calling as a protective packaging material in 1960.
Bubblewrap has been loved for years, but it was Spirit 95 Radio in Bloomington, Ind.,that started an official Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, aka BWAD, in 2001. Thestation held the first-ever “Bubblympiad,” which included bubble-wrap-themedgames, sculptures, and a fashion design contest.
