about a beacon on Lake Erie near Cleveland that’s become famous for NOT lighting the way. Battered by snow, ice, and spray caused by this week’s severe winter storm, the
looks more like an ice sculpture than a functioning lighthouse. On normal days, the structure helps ships enter the Cuyahoga River. Luckily, no one is trapped inside the spectacular frozen lighthouse – it’s been automated since 1965.
