World AIDS Day has the Web seeing red, as Twitter echoes memorials and awareness all over the net. The first World AIDS Day, conceived by a pair of World Health Organization staffers, James Bunn and Thomas Netter, was officially observed Dec. 1, 1988. The day is set aside to remember the 25 million killed by the disease and the estimated 33 million living with HIV today.
