Monday morning, after Morning Joe reported on Trump’s allegedly “furious” reaction to Kellyanne Conway’s media blitz against Mitt Romney on Sunday, Kellyanne Conway texted the hosts of Morning Joe to call their reporting on the matter “sexist.” “She says she can have any job she wants and is thinking about taking a role inside and outside of the campaign,” Joe Scarborough said.
The original report had cited “two sources at the top of the Trump transition team” who said that Conway “went rogue at Donald Trump’s expense at the worst possible time” in campaigning against Romney as a potential secretary of state pick in her tour of the Sunday talk shows.

“I’m not sure how that reporting is sexist because those were sources at the top of the campaign,” Scarborough said. “Is she suggesting that the people that she’s working with, the three people at the top of the Trump transition campaign, are sexist? Because that’s where all the sourcing comes from, the people closest to Donald Trump.”
“I don’t understand. What’s sexist? Why are they sexist for saying this?” he demanded.
As Slate’s Daniel Politi wrote on Sunday, Conway refused to clarify whether Trump knew that she’d planned on openly criticizing Romney:
Conway refused to specify whether Trump knew, and approved, of her anti-Romney campaign. When ABC’s Martha Raddatz asked her about that directly, Conway was decidedly vague: “I won’t discuss that.” But she did say that at the end of the day Trump would be the one to make the decision and she would back him. “There’s one person that will select his cabinet, and it’s President-elect Donald Trump,” she said. “Whatever he decides will have my full support and respect and he knows that.”
