It looks like Donald Trump is going to keep us guessing until the bitter end. During two different radio interviews Tuesday morning, the candidate yet again refused to promise that he would accept Tuesday’s election results.
In both the clips, which were turned up by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski, Trump more or less says he will take a wait-and-see approach to the returns. Asked by a host on Tampa’s 970 WFLA whether he’d contest the outcome, he launched into a bit about voter fraud in Chicago before concluding, “we can only see what happens.”
Well if I think there’s something that was wrong—did you notice, when I brought this up a few months ago, Obama, and others said, ‘oh, this is the foundation of our country’ but eight years ago, he was was basically saying that Chicago is rigged. [Rambles on about urban voter fraud] So no, if I think everything’s on the up and up, that’s a lot different, and we can only see what happens, I hope it’s going to be very fair, I think we’re going to do very well.
Trump was also pressed on whether he’d accept Tuesday night’s outcome while appearing on Columbus, Ohio’s Newsradio 610 WTVN. “I want to see what happens,” he said. “You know, you want to see. You hear so many horrible stories and you see so many things that are wrong. So we’ll take a look. Certainly I love this country and I believe in the system, you understand that.”
