The Trump Apocalypse Watch was a subjective daily estimate, using a scale of one to four horsemen, of how likely it was that Donald Trump would be elected president, thus triggering an apocalypse in which we all die.

My mom grew up in the hilly part of Iowa by the Mississippi and attended an elementary school close enough to her house that she could walk to and from it with her sisters. In 1962 she would have been in fifth grade. I remember her telling me that she has a memory of walking home during the Cuban Missile Crisis knowing that a nuclear war could begin at any moment.

Eras end. Countries collapse. Democracies die. Wars begin. It happens everywhere. It could happen here. It has happened here. It could happen again.
