Trump Becomes Millionth Right-Wing Creep to Misinterpret “Born in the USA”

Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” has been played at many a flag-humping right-wing politician’s rally since its release in 1984. This, as has been frequently noted, continues despite “Born in the USA” actually being a bleak, sarcastic indictment of American chauvinism. “You end up like a dog that’s been beat too much,” “Sent me off to a foreign land/To go and kill the yellow man,” and what have you.

This year’s nationalist isn’t breaking the trend:
