Watch “Entire Planet” Laugh at Trump as SNL Mocks Final Presidential Debate

Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump and Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton face off in the final debate on Saturday Night Live.

It seems likely Donald Trump was not a fan of this week’s Saturday Night Live cold open, either. After he took to Twitter to complain last week about the “hit job” SNL had done on him, the show was back Saturday night with its latest effort to make fun of an election season that some have said is “beyond satire.” And it involved, as usual, a lot of making fun of Trump, but also had more biting mockery of Hillary Clinton than in the previous debates.

Tom Hanks was the guest star and he did a great job as the well-reviewed Chris Wallace, welcoming the audience by saying that the third debate is much like the third Lord of the Rings movie: “You don’t want to watch but, hey, you’ve come this far.” As with previous debates, Alec Baldwin as Trump and Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton used a lot of material from the actual faceoff between the candidates. Baldwin, for example, got things off the ground by saying that he would “start this debate in the quietest voice possible. In the past, I have been big and loud, but tonight, I am a sweet little baby Trump.”

That didn’t last long though because when Wallace asked about reproductive rights Trump yelled out: “They’re ripping babies out of vaginas!” And then Clinton says: “What two better people are there to talk about women’s issues? Me, a woman who has had a child and has taken birth control, and him, a man who is a child and whose face is birth control.”

One of the funniest moments of the debate came when Wallace asked Trump whether he still maintained his innocence despite all the women who have accused him of sexual assault. “Of course I do, I’m completely innocent,” Baldwin said. “I’ll say it again, no one has more respect for women than I do.” Echoing what happened in the real debate, people in the crowd began giggling. But then SNL took that a giant step further, turning the giggles into laughter, and then the camera zoomed out to show the whole planet laughing. “Settle down entire planet, settle down,” Wallace said.

There was also time for a bit of sibling rivalry when Trump bragged about everyone who had supported him. “I’ve got Sarah Palin, I’ve got Chachi, I’ve even got the best Baldwin brother—Stephen Baldwin.”

Of course, Baldwin’s Trump also repeated two key phrases uttered during the debate: “nasty woman” and “bad hombres.”

SNL also got into the moment when Trump refused to say that he would accept the election results. “I will look at it at the time because, frankly, this whole thing is rigged,” Trump said. “Even the media. Every day, I turn on the news and all of the newscasters are making me look so bad.” Wallace then wondered how it was that the media was doing that. “By taking all of the things I say and all of the things I do and putting them on TV.”
