Drone Injury for Cleveland Indians Pitcher Forces Him to Leave Game With Bleeding Finger

Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer lasted all of two-thirds of an inning in Game 3 of the ALCS Monday night before he bled out of the game and was replaced by Indians reliever Dan Otero. The injury to the 25-year-old’s pitching hand predated Monday’s game; as could only happen in 2016, Bauer cut his pinkie while repairing his drone last week and was forced to missed his scheduled start in Game 2 on Saturday.

The extra two days of healing time clearly wasn’t enough as his finger appeared mangled before the game and the wound clearly still in the early stages of healing.

Bauer took the mound anyway, but couldn’t make it through the first inning. When he was finally pulled blood was visibly dripping in a steady stream from his throwing arm on the mound.
