On Wednesday after Donald Trump met Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, Trump said they hadn't talked about his dumb plan to make Mexico pay for the big old border wall he is going to build when he is inaugurated as U.S. president/White Emperor for Life. Then Peña Nieto tweeted they had in fact talked about it and that he had said Mexico will not pay. Thursday, Trump sort of addressed the dispute and insisted that, no, he's really going to somehow make Mexico pay for a wall built in America by Americans. Peña Nieto has again responded on Twitter:
Repito lo que le dije personalmente, Sr. Trump: México jamás pagaría por un muro. https://t.co/IJNVe0XepY— Enrique Peña Nieto (@EPN) September 1, 2016
"I repeat what I told you personally, Mr. Trump: Mexico will never pay for a wall."
The real question is, who is going to pay for the tunnels under the wall that immediately render it just as ineffective as all the other things we've tried at the border?
