Today’s biggest stories are unfortunately very Trump-oriented:
- A longtime Trump associate and political adviser says Khizr Khan is a terrorist.
- John McCain sharply criticized Trump’s handling of the Khan situation but did not renounce his endorsement of the Republican nominee.
- In the last four days Trump has gotten into two feuds with local fire departments.
- One of the authors of the Republican party’s post-2012 “autopsy” has formally quit the party to protest Trump’s nomination.
- Gallup has found that the Republican National Convention was the least effective convention since 1984 in terms of giving viewers a positive impression of the party putting it on.
- Trump is already complaining that the fall debates are rigged against him.
