Update, 12:55 p.m.: The New York Times has some detail on what’s apparently going on here. Trump’s people, the Times says, are “preparing” to announce Pence as their VP candidate tomorrow at an 11 a.m. press conference, but there’s a belief that Trump might still change his mind:
Donald J. Trump’s campaign has signaled strongly to Republicans in Washington that he will pick Mike Pence, the governor of Indiana, as his running mate, though Republicans caution the party’s mercurial presidential candidate may still backtrack on his apparent choice.
Mr. Trump’s advisers have told national Republican officials that they are preparing to make an announcement with Mr. Pence, according to three people with knowledge of the conversations, who were not authorized to discuss them publicly.
Update, 12:45 p.m.: The Indianapolis Star says it’s “confirmed” that Pence is the man.
Update, 12:35 p.m.: Multiple Trump staffers are claiming the pick still hasn’t been made.
Update, 12:32 p.m.: CBS White House correspondent Major Garrett is also saying Pence.

Big caveats here: They’re attributing this information to “a source,” not claiming it as a fact. And VP reporting is something that otherwise credible publications have been known to botch.
