Reports Now Say No One Was Hurt by German Movie Theater Attacker

Update, 11:47 a.m.: A German police spokesman says that he believes no one besides the Viernheim attacker, who was shot dead by police, was hurt in Thursday’s incident.

Update, 11:37 a.m.: Tentative good news—the AP is now saying that no one was hurt by the German gunman. Reuters is also citing a German report that no one was injured.

Original post, 11:13 a.m.: An armed man has attacked a movie theater in the southwestern German town of Viernheim, reports say, injuring 25 or more people; German officials say the attacker is dead. It’s not clear yet what the attacker’s motivation was or how the victims were hurt—initial accounts have said he fired a weapon and may also have set off some sort of gas. We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.
